Reid Taylor a 9 year old student at Staffordshire Darts Academy won the first JDC academy development tour last weekend.

The JDC have decided to include a development tour for the affiliated academies to its portfolio. The Greenzone Development tour is an opportunity for all to compete on a level playing field using the Greenzone handicap system and dart board. Devised by JDC Chairman Steve Brown, the Greenzone System is in place at all JDC academies to measure the ability of young dart players by giving them a handicap via a coloured shirt system. Similar to martial arts children are rewarded with a higher grade shirt as they progress. The tournament at Kenny's on Saturday home of Staffordshire DA, allowed all abilities to compete against each other and giving the younger academy students a chance to compete with higher grade players. It was the white shirt of Reid Taylor that picked up the trophy and the tournament win. The JDC are determind to allow everyone a chance to play and get prepared with experience of playing in a tournament.
