Team Gibraltar have revealed their four-player team ahead of Decembers Junior Darts Corporation World cup team event in Bristol.
The team of Jerome Chipol, Craig Galliano, Justin Hewitt and Sean Negrette will represent their nation in the inaugural staging of the competition as well as the World Championship two day later.
Alex Nunez Jnr has been instrumental in the progression of darts in his home country, with JDC chairman Steve Brown recently revealing there will be a JDC endorsed academy opening in Gibraltar in the near future.
Meanwhile, four North American based players have qualified for the JDC World Championships. Winner of the inaugural CDC Junior darts tour Gavin Nicoll earnt his spot with an excellent string of displays on Saturday afternoon.
Nicoll hit nine 180’s throughout the session as he romped to victory. The youngster has lost just two matches all year and could be a strong contender come December.
Jamison Meritt, Conner Zaragoza and Joseph Lynaugh will also make the flight across the pond as they compete on the JDC World stage for the first time.
Players from Ireland and Wales will soon be looking to join those who have already qualified at the upcoming qualifying events. Qualifiers will be hosted in Munster (Cork), Connaucht (Galway), Ulster (Tyrone) and Leinster (Dublin) this Autumn.
Welsh throwers will also have their chance to play for Team Wales & qualify for the World Championship on the 25th August. St David’s Hall in Cardiff will play host to the qualifiers.
