The aforementioned Bennett and Harry Gregory were triumphant last time out in Wolverhampton, and the Lincoln based thrower would double his tally with a second JDC Scott Farms International tour win of his season.

The 13-year-old dropped just two legs on route his outstanding victory over Brad Phillips in the final. Bennett was dominant as he took the inaugural event of the season in January, and he continued to stamp his authority on the JDC in another excellent performance.

A ninety plus averages in his semi-final win over Buster Turner put him into the final, before a resurgent Phillips failed to produce his best darts when it came to the crunch. Bennett going top of the order of merit in the process.

In the second event of the day, Chester’s James Beeton would record his first victory on the JDC Tour for 18 months. Beeton was crowned a JDC All Star back in 2017, and his return to form signals his intent to return to the summit of the darting world.

Beeton was pushed all the way by Connor Pickett and Taylor Smoldon in the opening rounds but showed terrific determination to pull himself into the last 16. Wins over previous tour finalists Nathan Care and Keelan Kay confirmed his place in the final alongside first time finalist Jack Male.

Despite producing his best performance of the weekend with an 87 average, the consistent Beeton would show his class on the outer ring to seal the title in Dorchester with checkouts of 81 and 130 In the process.

Earlier in the afternoon, JDC World Championship finalist Lennon Cradock has defeated Leighton Bennett in the final 32. He would go on the reach a second semi-final of the season, placing his fourth on the order of merit as the year begins to take shape.
