JDC Ireland Academy coach Keith O'Neill has been appointed as head of JDC operations in Ireland.
Keith O'Neill pictured above (right) with JDC Chairman Steve Brown has been appointed to assist in the growth of junior and youth darts across Ireland. With such a pool of great talent coming through and the increase in academy interest in Ireland, Keith will be the lead to JDC Operations Director Darren Barson in growing the academy and tournament network of the JDC in Ireland. 2020 will see the collection of academies in Ireland grow to 5 with the introduction of the first Academy to hit Northern Ireland.
Currently academies can be found in Athlone, Tallaght and Co Carlow who are all actively affiliated to the JDC.
JDC Director Darren Barson commented " the appointment for Keith was only a matter of time, Keith has assisted us way before this appointment over the last few years on many occassions. Keith has been a huge ambassador to the JDC and we appreciate all he does. Keith has provided a solid academy base now in Ireland and has assisted the JDC on accreditation days, as well as providing teams for the JDC World Cup in previous years. What Keith has proved is that if you are willing to dedicate some time to a passion, the rewards will come through.
We are delighted to be working more closely with Keith".
The JDC now has plans to affiliate further academies in Ireland, reach out to the education departments in Ireland and secure tournaments and development pathways for more children in 2020 and beyond.
