More than 170 junior players have registered for the JDC’s Advanced Tour Q-School with one day to go until entries close.

The phenomenal interest in earning a tour card has set up a fascinating weekend’s play in Coventry this weekend, where 13 players will join the 19 existing card holders on the 2025 Advanced Tour.

Played across four tournaments – two each on Saturday 18 January and Sunday 19 January – the winner of each tournament will automatically earn a tour card, along with the next nine leading players from a rolling order of merit.

Players from nine nations – England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Netherlands, Belgium, Slovakia and India – have registered to compete this weekend.

They will be looking to join the following players, who already have their tour cards for 2025 (all from England unless stated): Jack Nankervis, Archie Self, Ryan Branley, Jack Marshall, Nico Bado (Gibraltar), Daniel Stephenson, Tergel Khurelkhuu (Mongolia), Mason Teese, Joseph Westby, Shoey Ayres, Jayden Jones, Oliver Haughan, Callum Coade (Ireland), Jack Johnson, Mitchell Lawrie (Scotland), Cori Wiltshire, Drake Porter, Owen Bryceland (Scotland), Lewis Cook.

JDC tournament director Robbie Long said: “We’ve got more than 170 entries at the moment, which is likely to rise to around 190 by 6pm on Friday 17 January (UK time).

“This is up from around 70-80 in the past and shows the incredible interest there is in darts – and specifically in junior darts – right now. The number of entries is more than we ever could have imagined, it’s fantastic.”
