This year's super 16 finals comes to a close with the top 16 of the JDC's bespoke academy order of merit and the top 16 of the four super 16 open qualifiers all came down to one finals day coventry to see who will head to Milton Keynes for a chance of a lifetime to play on the Masters stage during the PDC's prestigious Masters event.
Huge averages and shocks throughout the group stages with familiar faces making late rounds, aswell as first time late final rounds for some In the group stages Jenson Walker hitting 81.38 & Luke Little 76.80 setting the tone for the day. In the knockout rounds Scotlands Mitchell Lawrie posted an 88.61 and Englands Cayden Smith hitting 80 plus. New faces in Callum Coade made his first JDC Quarter Final and Oliver Haughan made the Last 16.
This year's final will be contested by young Lancashire Star Joseph Westby, making his first major JDC final by producing a huge comeback in the semi final defeating Paige Pauling 5-3.
However, he faces a very familiar face to a final as two time Super 16 champion and current JDC World Champion Luke Littler reached the final after defeating his good friend Cayden Smith in the Semi Finals 5-1. This will be Luke's last major final next year for the JDC as he moves on to the PDC circuit next year after gaining his tour card via the development tour 2023. He will however, still have the chance to defend his World Title in Gibraltar at the JDC World Championships later on this month.
Who will take home the £1000 winners prize pot and become the JDC Super 16 champion? It's a rookie Vs a JDC veteran as we head to Milton Keynes on February 4th.
