JDC Chairman Steve Brown lands a landmark contract with Gibraltar and brings with it, two new Junior tournaments.
The JDC have secured the backing of the Government of Gibraltar to hold Junior Darts Tournaments for the next 5 years on the rock. In a bid to find the best facilities and a place that is very suited to juniors and their families, Gibraltar came out on top. In 2019 the JDC held its World Cup and World Championship finals in the newly built Europa Point facility and was deemed such a great venue, it was high on the priotiry of the JDC and its team to return.
In a LIVE signing of the contract, Minister Steven Linares spoke of the popular nature of darts and how sporting events like these add huge value to Gibraltar and its economy. He spoke about the value darts has to young people, in particular the mathmatical side of the sport.
Steve Brown commented " this is such a great and positive move for the junior game. Gibraltar is perfect for us to hold prestigious events. Pleased to announce the additional events to our portfolio and I hope they will add value to the visit of our players and families and excitement for the children to play in different events".
In 2020 the JDC will hold the following events.
August 6th - 9th 4 days of play
OPEN TO ALL NATIONALITIES AROUND THE WORLD
1. European Soft Tip Championship (NEW EVENT)
2. MVG MODUS MASTERS 2020 x 2 day event (NEW EVENT)
3. JDC European Championship ( Steel Tip)
All events will be played out at the Europa Point facility in Gibraltar.
The JDC will be returning to the rock in November (DATES TBC) for the JDC's Junior World Darts Championship, World Cup and a World Soft Tip event.
Dates for the World Championship will be released in due course.
